Search Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter Mini-RF data in Lunar ODE: Product Search • Map Search
Four decades after humankind's first giant leap, NASA is returning to the Moon in a big way with the Mini-RF project, which is flying two radar instruments to map the lunar poles, search for water ice, and to demonstrate new communications technologies.
An innovative synthetic aperture radar (SAR), the instrument will orbit the Moon on two platforms: the Indian Space Research Organization’s Chandrayaan-1 spacecraft and NASA's Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter. What it finds will support humans' return to the Moon.
LRO Mini-RF Products
Note: The Bistatic Radar data set has been completely revised, and new map projected products, version 3 of the data set have been added. See ERRATA.TXT and AAREADME.TXT for details.

Packetized Data Record - Raw binary data - See section 4.3.1 of the Product SIS for more information. |
Calibrated Data Record - SAR images in range and azimuth orientation with pixel values in beta naught, which have been radiometrically and polarmetrically calibrated. See section 4.3.2.1 of the Product SIS for more information. |
Map-Projected Calibrated Data Record - Orthorectified and re-sampled map-projected CDRs. See section 4.3.2.2 of the Product SIS for more information. |
Level 3 Polar Mosaic Calibrated Data Records - Orthorectified using ISIS software. See section 4.3.3 of the Product SIS for more information. |
Calibrated Level 3 global uncontrolled mosaic data products and ancillary files from the Mini-RF lunar mission constructed from LRO Mini-RF calibrated data records (CDRs). See mrflro_5_globalmosaic_ds.cat for more information. |
Bistatic Experiment Data Record - The Level 0 BSEDRs are bistatic radar images in range and azimuth orientation. They are radiometrically and polarimetrically calibrated and used to create Level 1 BSRDRs of the Stokes parameters and circular polarization ratio. See the documentation links below for additional information on BSEDR. |
Bistatic Reduced Data Record - See the documentation links below for additional information on BSRDR. |
Bistatic Derived Data Record - BSDDRs consist of pixel-dependent geometric information in a 6-band backplane image file. They include pixel-to-pixel values for the latitude, longitude, bistatic angle, incidence angle, and emission angle in degrees and the range to the surface in kilometers of the acquired data. See the documentation links below for additional information on BSDDR. |
