The Radiometric calibration of the High Resolution Stereo Camera (HRSC) RDR dataset was revised in this new version (version 4). Update and revisions details are described in chapter 2.4 of the HRSC EAICD in the document directory of each new volume. A summary of the updates are given below.
-
New dark current corrections have been applied based on inflight measurements to account for aging of the filters. In addition, dark current corrections are only applied to illuminated portions of images where part of the image field-of-view is off the planet or moon.
-
Artifacts in the data from interferences between sensors have been corrected.
-
Finally, the dataset organization has changed so that it is split into separate datasets based on Mars Express (MEX) mission extensions, which is consistent with other MEX instrument archives.
For more information about HRSC RDRV4 products, see the RDRV4 Product EAICD.
HRSC RDRV4 products have the following file names:
Hoooo_mmm_dd3.IMG
where:
oooo= 4-digit orbit number
mmmm = number of the image in this orbit
dd = sensor name (can be ND, S1, S2, P1, P2, BL, GR, IR, RE, SR)
ND = nadir
S1 = stereo 1
S2 = stereo 2
P1 = panchromatic 1
P2 = panchromatic 2
BL = blue
GR = green
IR = near IR
RE = red
SR = super resolution
3 = indicates the CODMAC level of processing which is archived in PSA/PDS (refer to Section 2.2.1 and Section 3.1.4).
In ODE, RDRV4 products have the following Product IDs:
HOOOO_MMMM_DD3.IMG
