KAGUYA (SELENE) Laser Altimeter Instrument
ODE: Moon
Mission: KAGUYA (SELENE)
Search KAGUYA Laser Altimeter data in Lunar ODE: Product Search
The KAGUYA's Laser Altimeter (LALT) instrument transmits laser pulses to nadir direction and measures the round trip time to the surface of the moon to determine the topography of the Moon globally including its polar regions. LALT builds a spherical harmonic expansion model of the lunar topography with much higher order degrees than that made previously by Clementine mission so on. LALT constructs a grid map of topography, which provides the absolute reference to the DEM (Digital Elevation Map) produced by TC(Terrain Camera)..
ODE supports the search, exploration, and download of KAGUYA LALT Calibrated (corrected), and Derived data products.
