Search KAGUYA Multiband Imager data in Lunar ODE: Product Search

The KAGUYA's Multiband Imager (MI) instrument is a push-broom type imager and continuously observe the lunar surface. MI is a high-resolution multiband imaging camera consisting of two sub-systems: MI-VIS for visible imagery and MI-NIR for near infrared imagery. Each system has a same type of nadir-directed telescope of 65 mm of focal length and a different two-dimension detector. MI takes push-broom imaging data by using five bands for MI-VIS and four bands for MI-NIR to identify types of soils and rocks. MI spatial resolution is 20 m for MI-VIS and 60 m for MI-NIR, which is adjusted for detailed investigation of interesting structures and material distributions on the Moon.

ODE supports the search, exploration, and download of KAGUYA MI Calibrated (corrected), and Derived data products.

Calibrated Data - MI NIR Level2B2

MI-NIR 4 band images in nominal observation mode. After radiometric correction, conversion to radiance, rubber seating of non-base images to the base images, scene cutting as same observation area and cube generation. Data values are shown in radiance.

Calibrated Data - MI VIS Level2B2

MI-VIS 5 band images in nominal observation mode. After radiometric correction, conversion to radiance, rubber seating of non-base images to the base images, scene cutting as same observation area and cube generation. Data values are shown in radiance.

Calibrated Data - MI NIR Level2C2

MI-NIR 4 band images in nominal observation mode. After photometric correction, conversion to reflectance and attachment of systematic geometric correction data (latitude and longitude derived by geometric correction). Data values are shown in radiance.

Calibrated Data - MI VIS Level2C2

MI-VIS 5 band images in nominal observation mode. After photometric correction, conversion to reflectance and attachment of systematic geometric correction data (latitude and longitude derived by geometric correction). Data values are shown in radiance.
