The Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter Camera (LROC) Empirically Normalized Wide Angle Camera Mosaic Data Record (MDREMP) data product is an empirically normalized WAC mosaic constructed from 137,400 WAC images acquired from January 21, 2010 to January 31, 2013 over a broad range of lighting and viewing geometries. Each pixel from the WAC observations is photometrically normalized to a standard geometry of 30 degrees incidence angle, 0 degrees emission angle, and 30 degrees phase angle using an empirically derived global photometric function. Normalized WAC pixels for each location are combined using the median (average n = 142), so each mosaic value is using information from many observations. The product is useful in characterizing lunar resources such as abundance of ilmenite.

LROC MDREMP products have the following file names:

WAC_EMP_xxxxx_Eaaadoooo_064P.IMG

where:

xxxxx = 5-character band description (3BAND, 321NM, 360NM, 415NM, 566NM, 604NM, 643NM, or 689NM)

aaa = latitude center to the tenth of a degree (nn.n)

d = direction

N = north

S = south

oooo = longitude center to the tenth of a degree (nnn.n)

In ODE, MDREMP products have the following product IDs:

WAC_EMP_XXXXX_EAAADOOOO_064P
