The Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter Camera (LROC) Binned Data Record Narrow Angle Camera Pole (BDRNPL) data product contains a map-projected single-band basemap derived from NAC single-band imaging. The product provides detailed synoptic maps of polar regions and consists of NAC 2.0 m/pixel uncontrolled best-effort mosaics of polar regions 90 to 85.5° latitude.

The BDRNPL high-resolution basemap is organized into 24 quadrangles for each pole covering 90 to 85.5° latitude and 0 to 360° longitude as shown in the image below. Each quadrangle covers 1.5° of latitude and a longitude range depending on the latitude coverage as shown in the table below. The basemap is available in a Polar Stereographic projection. For the Polar Stereographic projection, the quadrangles share the same reference center latitude (CLAT = 90.0) and longitude (CLON = 0.0). With a common reference, it is possible to generate composite quadrangles by scaling and mosaicking individual quadrangles without the need for reprojection. The basemap is scaled at 2.0 m/pixel. With this scale and the latitude and longitude coverage of a quadrangle, the images will typically be about 30,000 x 30,000 pixels or about 900 megapixels.
