The Moon Mineralogy Mapper (M3) Calibrated Image Version 2 (CALIV2) data products consist of resampled calibrated data in units of spectral radiance, pixel center location data, observational geometry and illumination parameters, and UTC timing information for each image frame.

CALIV2 data products consist of 4 files for each observation:

  1. Multiple-band image file containing radiance-calibrated data (and associated ASCII ENVI header file)

  2. Multiple-band image file containing selenolocation data (and associated ASCII ENVI header file)

  3. Multiple-band image file containing observation geometry data (and associated ASCII ENVI header file)

  4. ASCII file containing timing information for each image line

All M3 CALIV2 products are standardized to remove the different effects of the four possible orbit limb and flight yaw mode combinations:

  1. Descending/forward

  2. Descending/reverse

  3. Ascending/forward

  4. Ascending/reverse

In ascending limb data the lines/times are reversed, so all CALIV2 images have the northernmost image line first. In descending/reverse and ascending/forward modes the samples are reversed, so the first sample is on the west side of the image and do not appear left-right mirrored. In descending/forward no changes in lines or samples are performed; this is the only case that matches the Raw Image (RAWIMG) data.
