The Visual Imaging Subsystem Cameras A and B (VISAB) High Resolution Mosaicked Digital Image Models (MDIMHs) are a cartographic extension of the Experiment Data Records (EDRs). They contain cartographic compilations made by processing the raw images to reduce radiometric and geometric distortions to form geodetically controlled images.
Note: The west positive aerographic coordinates in the label of Viking Orbiter VISAB MDIMH data products have been converted to east positive aerocentric coordinates in the ODE metadata database.
There are 8 volumes of MDIMHs. Each of the volumes contains MDIMHs of the areas specified at 1/1024 deg/pixel (58 meter/pixel) resolution. For this high resolution data set, each MDIM 1:500,000 quad for which high resolution coverage was available has been divided into sixteen tiles, each approximately 1.25 x 1.25 degrees squared.
