The MESSENGER Radio Science (RS) experiment consists of radio observations carried out using the MESSENGER spacecraft and Earth-based observing systems of the NASA Deep Space Network (DSN). Observational data are the raw measurements from one or more instruments or the results from processing those measurements. The observations are designed to generate high-resolution gravity field models of Mercury.

Delta-Differential One-way Range Data Record. See page 8 and section 2.1 of the RS Raw Data Archive SIS for more information. |
Compressed Version of TNF - typically to one data point per 10 seconds or one data point per 60 seconds. The ODF contains the most important information (range, Doppler and frequency ramps) needed by the navigation engineers, and investigators interested in determining gravity fields. See page 8 and section 2.1 of the RS Raw Data Archive SIS for more information. |
Radio Science Receiver Record. See page 8 and section 2.1 of the RS Raw Data Archive SIS for more information. |
Tracking and Navigation File (TRK-2-34 data). See page 8 and section 2.1 of the RS Raw Data Archive SIS for more information. |
