The Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter Camera (LROC) Binned Data Record Wide Angle Camera Global (BDRWGL) data product contains a map-projected single-band basemap derived from Wide Angle Camera (WAC) single-band imaging. The product supports morphological analysis of the lunar surface and consists of a WAC monochrome global uncontrolled best-effort basemap mosaic of high-incidence angle (60°-80°) at 100.0 m/pixel scale.

The BDRWGL monochrome basemap mosaic is created issuing high-incidence angle imaging (typically 60°-80°) from the WAC’s 645 nm filter. Taking advantage of the high scene contrast at these incidence angles, the product is ideally suited for morphological analysis of the lunar surface. The basemap mosaic is organized into 6 quadrangles covering equatorial regions of the lunar globe as shown in the image below. Each quadrangle has 60° of latitude and 90° of longitude coverage mapped into the Equirectangular projection with center reference latitude 0° (CLAT = 0.0) and center reference longitude 0° (CLON = 0.0). Polar Stereographic maps are also created for the high-latitude regions from 60° to the poles with center reference latitude 90° (CLAT = 90.0) and center reference longitude 0° (CLON = 0.0). The basemap mosaic is called at 100.0 m/pixel.
